The legacy that David Bowie left behind was huge. Many artists paid tribute to him, there is a petition to put him on the £20 note, and the hearts of many were dismayed to wake to the news of his passing on January 10. Thanks to Bill de Blasio, Mayor of New York City, January 20 has been named David Bowie Day in NYC.

The official Facebook page also made an announcement, followed by comments of support including one sentimental fan who said that “every day is Bowie Day in my heart and soul.

January 20 also marks the final showing of Lazarus, the production co-written by Bowie.
