Coen Brothers ‘Hail, Ceasar!’ To Open 2016 Berlin Film Festival | Film News

The latest movie from the Coen brothers Hail, Ceasar! will open the 66th edition of the Berlin International Film Festival, which will start on February 11 next year. The first time the brothers opened the festival was in 2011, when they presented the very-well received western film True Grit. This time, they will open with their new comedy feature, which is set in the Hollywood studios during the 1950s, and follows the studio fixer Eddie Mannix (Brolin), who will be the one in charge to rescue actor  Baird Whitlock (Clooney), who disappeared from the set of the studio latest movie Hail Caesar, a Tale of Christ’s Life.

 

Cast includes, the already mention George Clooney and Josh Brolin, as well as Alden Ehrenreich, Frances McDormand, Channing Tatum, Jonah Hill, Scarlett Johansson, Tilda Swinton and Ralph Fiennes. After the Berlinale, Universal Pictures will release the film on February 5, in the US and then worldwide.
